What does your pet need to enter the UK and Ireland ?

Microchip-The animal(s) that is travelling must have a registered implanted microchip

Rabies
vaccination-In order for your animal(s)to travel, it must have had at
least one rabies vaccination after the microchip was implanted.

Blood test - Your animal(s) must have
had a blood sample taken, a minimum of 30 days from rabies vaccination date and
tested for rabies antibodies. From the date of the blood sample being taken
there must be at least a six month period before the date of
travel.

Tick and Tapeworm Treatments - On the
final examination of your pet(s) carried out by the vet, it must also have
treatment for the tick and tapeworm which can only be administered by your vet
and be logged and signed in the passport. It is very important that the
treatment is carried out at such a time that by arrival at the UK the treatment
was administered between 24 and 48 hours before check in time. Your vet should
also check the animal(s) for the microchip and insure the number is identical
with the number registered in the passport.

Transport carriers - Your animal must have a suitable
carrier to be transported in. The legal requirements of the airline is that the
animal must have a minimum of 10 cm ( 4 inches) between the animal and the
carrier. For example when your pet stands up-right in the normal position the
gap from the top of their head to the top of the carrier must be at least 10 cm.
There must also be enough room for the animal to be able to turn around inside.

All pets carried under The Pet Travel Scheme must be sent to the UK and Ireland as cargo, not as excess baggage.
Passengers must be booked separately but can be booked on the same
flight.

In the case your pet does not meet the rules above, you also have the option of leaving your pet at
ANIMALHOTEL DOMINO, where we take care for the necessary paperwork. When the 6 months (from the
blood test ) has been completed, we will make all the flight arrangements to the U.K for your
pet.
Your pet also can be booked into a Quarantine Kennel in the U.K. We will help you to find the nearest Quarantine Kennel to where you live and book a
flight for your pet.
